What we do

Omanos combines downstream satellite data analysis with community intelligence and other ground data sources to identify and monitor the social and environmental impacts of critical infrastructure projects, in order to provide verified, accessible, and inclusive insights into the realities on the ground. Our technology built on a combination of automated and human analysis, designed to be accessible and actionable in different contexts, from legal arbitration, to policy design, to advocacy.

About us

Omanos Analytics is a Glasgow-based space technology social enterprise delivering space data knowledge to support sustainable development.

Our mission is promote the use of space technology for social and environmental benefit, including:

• increasing the use of earth observation insights for environmental and social good, with a focus on traditionally underserved or data-deprived communities;

• promoting the integration of earth observation insights with lived community experiences to form trusted narratives for a safe, secure and sustainable world; and

• supporting community narratives and placing the focus on scientific evidence in order to reduce risk to individuals.

Through our global networks with NGOs and communities, we’ve worked on cases relating to mining, hydrocarbons, logging, agriculture, sugar and rubber plantations, looking at issues including forced displacement, water access, crop damage, deforestation, and mobility. Our data products have been instrumental in a range of scenarios, including an arbitration case heard by the Compliance Ombudsman for the World Bank’s commercial investment arm (IFC).
